What is an RDLO?
What is an RDLO?
RDLOs are funded by the Department of Education, Science and Training and in Central Queensland the RDLO position is hosted by Central Queensland University. There are RDLO positions located across Australia. In some regions they are referred to as Disability Coordination Officers (DCO) but their role is the same.
Put simply the RDLO’s role is two-fold:
- enhance opportunities for people with disabilities to access post-secondary education and training. This includes access to Universities, TAFEs, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Agricultural Colleges or private training organisations.
- enhance transition pathways for people with disabilities from post-secondary education and training into their careers.
A more detailed description of the RDLO role can be found at: http://www.dest.gov.au/highered/programmes/rdlo.htm
