How do I enrol

Enrolling with a VET Provider
Most VET providers will accept applications directly from students by way of an enrolment form that is filled out by the student. This form will usually have a question regarding whether you have a disability or medical condition. It is important that you notify the provider at this point, of any condition you may have by ticking the appropriate box. This may be the only way of gaining access to support services or adjustments that will enable you to have equitable access to your course.
Many VET providers are adopting electronic enrolment, whereby you fill in an enrolment form over the web.
Entry into some VET courses, such as those in the Fine Arts, may require a portfolio, audition or other demonstration of your experience and abilities. Some courses may require an OP score for entry and like Universities, application may need to be made through QTAC. For further information on enrolment procedures for specific colleges or courses you can email the RDLO - Eric Boardman or phone on 07 4930 6394
Enrolling into University
Entry into most undergraduate degree programmes at university is through application to QTAC or its equivalents in other states. To be offered a place in a degree programme you will need to have had a ranking assigned to you by QTAC based on either your school results (in Queensland this is called an OP score) or your work and training experience.
During the QTAC application process you are asked to list the programmes you wish to gain entry into in order of preference. Universities will then offer you a place based on your preferences and your ranking.
You can request that QTAC, or its equivalents in other states make special consideration for any educational disadvantage you may have experienced due to your disability or medical condition. Such consideration can improve your chances of being offered a place in the programme of your choice.
Once a university sends you an offer you are required to respond within a certain time. At CQU there are several important steps in this process. Here are three-
Acceptance of offer: To accept your offer you are required to visit the enrolment website and fill out the enrolment forms advising of such things as your exam centre, whether you have a disability and whether you will require any support services.
Course selection: Your enrolment is not complete until you select the courses (subjects) that you intend to take in the first semester of your programme. Once this has been done your enrolment is deemed to be complete.
Registering your support needs: If you wish to request adjustments to exams, lectures, notes, etc. to accommodate your disability or medical condition you are required to register with the Equity and Diversity Office by filling in a registration form. NB. this is a paper form and is not on the electronic enrolment site. If you have ticked the box for disability or chronic medical condition during enrolment, an Equity and Diversity Officer will contact you and send you a registration form.
